DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: | Koropi and Peania are two rapidly expanding municipalities located in Eastern Attiki, between the city of Athens and Eleftherios Venizelos airport.The foreseen works are the following: 1. Koropi-Peania Wastewater Treatment Plant: Equivalent population: 136 667 inhabitants. The proposed treatment system is activated sludge. The sludge produced after first and second-degree treatment will be routed to anaerobic digestion and mechanical dewatering. Most percentage of the second-degree treated outflow (maximum 500 l/s) is processed to third degree treatment (mechanical filtration), so that it will be used for irrigation purposes. 2. Disposal pipe of treated wastewater, of total length 21.3 kilometres, consisting of the following sections: a. Disposal pipe of Koropi-Peania WWTP, L=6 213 m, DN900. b. Disposal pipe of Markopoulo WWTP, L=9 331, DN=500-800. c. Joint disposal pipe of total length 4 718 m DN 1000-1100 d. Undersea disposal pipe, L=1000 m, DN900, including diffuser up to DN500 e. Tunnel of “horseshoe” section, D=4.00 m, L=1 285 m to serve the placement of the joint pipe (c) and the twin force main of the wastewater from the area Hamolia. |
