| DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: | The project for which Technical Assistance (TA) is provided refers to the construction of a new Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) that will replace the existing –non functional- one in the Municipality of Prosotsani. The new unit will serve selected settlements and the industrial park of the Municipality of Prosotsani. The settlements that will be served by the WWTP are limited, in the initial phase, to those of priority C as set by the contracting authority. The proposed WWTP will cover the needs of 10.000 inhabitants for the initial phase (20 years). The proposed processing system is Extended Aeration with simultaneous stabilization of sludge and biological removal of nitrogen and phosphorus. The processed effluent will be directed to the final recipient (Angitis river) through a closed gravity pipe. |
